As seen at Photo-Fictions, The Fumigator was the greatest 70's and 80's-era vigilante movie series that never was.
Some are candid, some staged, but the subjects're all superstars, and many of 'em have become part of our team of recurring players. Victims range from Mark Boswell to Liz Phair, and Alex Baker.
So last year I did some work helping out on a little movie some friends of mine were making - drawing storyboards and directing the second unit. Little did I know Quinceañera was going to sweep Sundance and turn into a surprise hit this summer. Go team! Here's two (non-consecutive) pages of storyboards to peek at.
I know, they may not exactly be ready to publish as a graphic novel or anything, but we didn't have the time to make 'em pretty, it was a case of describe the shot for the crew and jump on to the next one!
Asked to do a Halloween performance, this is something I came up with Buffy Visick - - - a glamorous bloodbath vaguelly inspired by Eyes of Laura Mars and various European horror films. These images (and about a dozen more from the series) were projected on a large screen behind her as she played her version of The Jesus and Mary Chain's 'Cracking Up.' For the benefit of future historians, we present this gallery of behind the scenes photos. One day we might even get around to digging some of the old ones out of the cardboard boxes at the storage unit and scanning them. That'll be funny...
A collaboration with Louisa Van Leer, the Edibilography was created for the 'Road Trip' issue of Black Book Magazine. The idea was to create an ingestible tour through the history of someone's life, a visceral way to better understand a historic personality - and perfect for a long drive. For the prototype that we built, we chose Elvis and these bite size snacks took the eater from Tupelo to Hawaii, WWII to Graceland.

This mean spirited parody of the pre-movie slideshows at the multiplex had been in gestation since Syd and I thought of it back in Miami-days. I finally cranked 'em out when I started doing my Cultiplex thing. As for the confessional "reel facts" slidesÉ all of it happened, just not all of it to me.
